The brain and mind are two different entities. The brain is the physical organ and the mind is
the seat of consciousness and our thoughts. The word mental is associated with a common
hindi word "pagal". However this is far from the truth. Mental health refers to the way we
think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make
healthy choices. Let's understand why mental health is important from this story.
PQR is a girl who currently studying in class 12. She is quiet, slient and keeps to herself. But
her life takes a turn when she gets selected for the opening speech of her school's culture
programme. Overwhelmed with the responsibility, she begins to ponder the what, why, and
how of the upcoming event. She practices her speech many times. But on that day when she
goes infront of the school holding a mic, her body tembles, her lips turn white and she faints.
This unfortunate incident was a result of stress and overthinking, a common issue affecting
people of all ages.
Taking care of physical body + mental state = a healthy human being.
We have found out the problem which is stress. When a problem arises there are
alway solutions for the same. Some ways we can try to reduce stress are:
• Giving yourself positive reinforcement: treating yourself with your favourite food or
movie if work is complete, this will motivate the person to complete work.
• Saying the same motivation phase everyday. Eg: I can do it !
• Eliminating negative people who always complain or are unsatisfied with the
situation.
• Pay attention to what you eat, as it directly impacts your body and mind. A balanced
and nutritious diet is crucial for overall well-being.
